@RoMee: Well, if your only experience with the PC crowd isn't from actually *gaming* with them... sure it seems that way. Especially if your exposure amounts to time spent on N4G which has such a small presence of PC gamers.
I think DD should have been the way the industry was heading.
But when I see a consoles that forces you to buy overpriced proprietary storage media or one that takes away all the advantages of going digital because of piracy worries, you kind of get mixed messages from the industry.
I can't even get same day digital releases from 360 Games on Demand. And Sony wants me to pay to make games I already own into digital versions.
Digital is ...
Actually, all the reasons sound pretty spot on if you can put yourself in the shoes of a non-gamer.
Platinum does great action games, but I'd like the game a lot more if it simply wasn't a Metal Gear.
And bluntly, "Revengeance" sounds both campy and stupid. Especially for a franchise notable for putting serious storytelling in video games on the map.
It's a huge game so it has bugs and blah blah blah, but the way the patches have been causing even worse bugs is frankly embarrassing.
No amount of awards or memes or youtube videos is really going to assuage gamers who can't enjoy the game because of those bugs.
Maybe it's a 10/10 on one platform, but it sure isn't on others.
Ever since gaming "came out of the basement" it's become just as shallow as every other form of entertainment media.
I mean, we act like these games are such hot shit, but really, they're not very groundbreaking. They're sequels. Most of their achievements are based off past innovations and an inescapable marketing campaign.
It seems to destroy the tone, themes, and characters *painstakingly* established by real MGS and MG games.
Might as well let Michael Bay direct the Lord of the Rings.
I like Platinum and the gameplay looks nice, but this game *should not* exist as a Metal Gear branded title.
Pretty much.
EA just wants Victory to get the rub from BioWare's name and legacy.
If the game is terrible, BioWare will look bad, even though they might have nothing to do with it.
And that's just sad.
Every time you see a trailer, you think the game is going to be photoreal... and it never is.
Oh, gamers.
That's not what gaming is about.
Really don't know what to think.
Looks like more AW so far... That can be good or bad.
Not too excited about the zombie-ish theme.
Maybe they can at least make it the game Dead Island pretended to be with its famous first trailer.
"XIII is making a comeback!" :D
"And it's not a shooter!" :?
"It's an adventure game!" :O
"AND IT'S TOTAL CRAP!" :[
I may be in the minority, but I'm generally still not sold on DLC.
Even if it's free.
I like VAs, but I think one day it would be awesome to meet some of the people who truly bring TES to life: the devs.
Seems like we never get to hear from the guys in the trenches.
This first one sucks, but some of the others look more photorealistic.
Actually, if he was a programmer or tester YOU would have something.
@Digital:
And yet nine agrees.
Thus once again proving, it's not about whether you're right or wrong, but about how many suckers you can get to support you.
As an RPG fan, it disappoints me that all I've ever seen of this game are combat videos.
The devs said it would be like Skyrim combined with God of War. I've seen the God of War parts endlessly. I've never seen the Skyrim in it at all. :/
I think a lot of people, even the supporters, are interpreting this as 6-8 hours of "total enjoyment" instead of 6-8 hours "to finish the story".
There's some truth here, but it's kind of twisted to make PC development sound like some kind of lazy thing. It's not PC-style, it's consoles coming into their own as media devices like the PC.
What you have to take into account here is the history: console games widely COULD NOT BE PATCHED UNTIL THIS GENERATION. Easy to forget when that kind of thing has become so commonplace so quickly.
But that meant QA had to be prioritized far more than i...
